Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance. Eckhart Tolle
I always say perspective is everything. Living in this world of too much, we should all take a moment to think about the wonder that is life.
Get up now, walk across the room, and come back. What happened? Your brain and your body worked in unison to seamlessly bring you from here to there and back again. That is amazing.
Take a deep breath all the way down to the base of your lungs. Breathe out slowly. Do you know what just happened? Again, your brain and body worked together to replenish your cells with oxygen while ridding itself of carbon dioxide. You don’t have to do anything, it just happens.
Think of a song. Right now. I’m thinking of “Love Will Keep Us Together” by Captain & Tennille. (And now you are too!) Let’s sing it. Do you hear that lovely voice you have? Pitch, tone, rhythm, and memorizing lyrics all came to you without much effort. Fascinating!
Did you eat yet, today? (If not, you should!) Chewing, swallowing, and the miracle of digestion happened without a thought. Food was converted into small nutrients that your body uses to fuel your brain and muscles so you can perform your daily activities.
Smell a flower, taste a blade of grass, feel the softness of your child’s cheek against yours, scratch an itch! I could go on and on. The point is, we all have so much to be grateful for. Think of these things often and you cannot have a bad day! If you start every day with “Wow, thank you, God” when you do the smallest of things, you will be rich by lunchtime. I promise.
